2004

The Early Years

Brothers and visionaries Rajdip and Sandip Gupta start their own mobile messaging company – Routesms – in Mumbai, India. With a passion for mobile technology and extensive technical knowledge the two set out to transform the mobile industry.
2007

The Early Years

The brothers Gupta establish sister company Routevoice Limited, now a leading international carrier and provider of voice solutions, allowing them to offer their customers a greater variety of solutions.
2008

The Early Years

The first international Routesms office is opened in London, UK.
2010

The Early Years

Routesms hosts its first Short Message Service Centre (SMSC) in cooperation with Loop Mobile India (capacity +/- 2000 TPS).
2011

The Early Years

The first international SMSC is hosted in cooperation with Greenfone UK (capacity +/- 3000 TPS).
In that same year, Routesms exhibits at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona for the first time.
2012

The Early Years

After eight successful years focussing on mainly the wholesale and operator business, Routesms establishes its India Enterprise Division to be able to cater to global enterprises.
In July 2012, Routesms is officially certified as a GSMA Open Solution Connectivity Provider – the company remains the only South Asian member with this accreditation to date.
Also in this year, Routesms launches its own fully functional SS7.
2014

Routesms partners with TATA, Comfone and BICS as Signalling Connection Control Part (SCCP) partners.
2015

The Early Years

To mark the eleven-year anniversary, Rajdip Gupta (Founder & CEO) announces the company: processes more than 1.3 billion messages per month serves over 18000 direct clients, 750 resellers and 150 distributors across the globe has grown into a team of close to 300 employees, operating out of nine international locations, the latest office having been opened in Nigeria.
2016

The Early Years

March – Routesms wins a prestigious SKOCH Achiever Award 2016 – Order of Merit in the category India’s Best SME.
April – The company rebrands to Route Mobile Limited and moves to a new HQ in Mumbai, New offices are opened in Ghana and South Africa. Route Mobile is awarded prestigious India SME 100 Award in the category India’s fastest growing company of the year.
July – Route Mobile is ranked 6th among 32 global messaging providers in the independently conducted A2P SMS Messaging Vendor Performance Report 2016 by ROCCO. Route Mobile acquires Cellent Technologies.
August – A new office is opened in Ghana.
November – Route Mobile acquires Defero Mobile & opens its first Asia-Pacific office in Singapore.
